Well, I was excited to receive my first royalty check for RINGTONES! I had hardly promoted my ringtone, which is currently only available on Cingular/AT&T, because I wasn’t sure if I’d actually get PAID for it. But now that I’ve received a check for my first 11 tones sold (see pic below), I realize that this is legit, and am going to start promoting the tone and getting it up for sale on the other networks.
All you Cingular users, click HERE and pick up a great ringtone!

JZ, I didn’t even know that you were doing ringtones. I guess I’ll have to go to the Cingular thing to find out which songs you submitted. It really goes to show you, as I’m sure you’ve learned, how many revenue streams there might be when creating music and your art. Artists have to survive too. But I guess that’s a topic for another day. Why is my art worth 99 cents a download? Who put that price on my art? I mean my art is more than just a groovy beat that someone enjoys bobbing their head to for 3 minutes, it’s everlasting, priceless, right? Shoot, if I bought my own art, I’d pay $1.99.

So, can you retire now?
